Civic Development Institute was established in 2005. Organization main activities are supporting free media, education, elections and youth civic engagement.
Civic Development Institute one of the basic direction is Media Literacy. Since 2014 with support of Open Society Georgia Foundation, Civic Development Institute has been working on Media Literacy issues. Two books were published : “Media Literacy” and “Media Literacy in school”; Three animations were produced; 14 video materials translated on Media Literacy, Critical and Creative Thinking; We worked out training program, which includes Media Literacy, Critical and Creative Thinking issues. We conducted training for teachers. Teachers guides have been developed through which teachers will independently plan and deliver lessons using Media Literacy approaches in classes.

At International Black Sea University students in their first year can attend “Media Literacy” lectures, which is prepared by Civic Development Institute.
Civic Development Institute in cooperation with educational specialists and teachers continues to create Media Literacy resources and supports the implementation of Media Literacy approaches at Georgian schools and universities.
