Conference "Critical Media Literacy - 2016 "
February 22, 2016Civic Development Institute conducted educational conference “Critical Media Literacy - 2016” on February 20, 2016 at Rooms Hotel Tbilisi. Media literacy project was accomplished with support of “Open Society Georgia Foundation”.
Georgian teachers, university representatives, school principals and education experts attended the conference.
In the frame of the project Media literacy publications and videos were translated and produced. Georgian specialists developed manual for teachers, training program and media literacy web-portal was created.
The web-portal is a resource hub for teachers aimed to implement media literacy approaches in classes. Original methodological materials prepared by Georgian teachers are uploaded on web-portal.
Georgian teachers presented their materials and discussed new teaching approaches.
Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Lia Gigauri greeted conference participants and spoke about importance of media literacy.
The conference was covered by the National TV channels: Georgian Public Broadcaster, TV channels “Imedi” and “Pirveli”.
